1930's lemon yellow gown with capelet/apron | VINTAGE
Vintage 1930's gown with matching capelet and belt. Pale lemon yellow rayon with a semi-lustrous finish, cut on the bias. Capelet can also be worn as an apron. Fringe-y trim. Comes with a matching belt with Art Deco rhinestone buckles. Belt buckle loops. Side snap closure.
Mel's Notes: When the model, Marie-Claire, and I were discussing this dress, we decided that the capelet, if worn as an apron, should be called a "capron". We couldn't stop laughing about it, and now I can't stop thinking about all of my short capes that could be worn as caprons. ;) But back to the dress itself - it's a lemon meringue confection: perfect for spring and summer, an unconventional choice for later in the year (especially with the right accessories).

Condition report: very good; some areas of very mild (almost clear) discoloration - may be from being washed and steamed, almost like watermarks; some pinholes at the back of the neckline - may have originally had some kind of decoration tacked there that is no longer present?; overall in phenomenal shape for a rayon dress from this era, in this color.
